Staff Achievements
- Prof. Tao Tang, together with Prof. Pingwen Zhang, Dr. Ruo Li and Prof. Huazhong Tang of Peking University, won a first prize in the natural science category of the 2007 Tertiary Institutions Science Technology Awards presented by the Ministry of Education, PRC.
- Prof. L. Zhu has been elected as a Fellow of the American Statistical Association. This honor goes to the internationally recognized statisticians. Prof. L. Zhu is also a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS).
- Prof. T. Tang, has been appointed Cheung Kong Chair Professor under the Cheung Kong Scholars Programme. He is among 89 scholars appointed chair professor under this programme, 2006.
- Dr. C.S. Tong, awarded the President's Award for Outstanding Performance in Service, 2006.
- Prof. T. Tang, awarded the Distinguished Visiting Professorship by the Academy of Mathematical and System Sciences (AMSS), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), 2005.
- Prof. L.Z. Liao, awarded the President's Award for outstanding performance in Teaching, 2003.
- Prof. T. Tang is awarded Feng Kang Prize of 2003 for his significant contributions in numerical PDE and Scientific Computing.
- Prof. Lixing Zhu elected Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, USA for his outstanding contributions to goodness-of-fit testing dimension-reducing methods and survival analysis, 2003.
- Prof. K.T. Fang received Distinguished Alumni Award by Peking University Alumni Association, 2002.
- Prof. X.N.Wu, awarded Beijing Science and Technology Award, 2002.
- Prof. K.T. Fang, awarded the President's Award for Outstanding Performance in Scholarly Work, 2001.
- Dr. C.S. Tong, awarded the President's Award for Outstanding Performance in Teaching, 2001.
- Prof. Michael Ng received the Outstanding Young Researcher Award of the University of Hong Kong, 2001.
- Prof. Lixing Zhu received the Humboldt Research Award by The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation of Germany for being one of the foremost statisticians in the world, 2000.
