The Program is administered by Department of Mathematics, Hong Kong Baptist University. The Graduate School of Hong Kong Baptist University welcomes applications from students with either business or non-business academic backgrounds. Every application received is considered individually, and admission decisions are based on the applicant's ability and motivation to complete the program.

Admission Requirements:

Applicants for this programme should normally
    1. possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Business or other related majors;
    2. be proficient in Basic Mathematics; and
    3. satisfy at least one of the following requirements on English language proficiency*:
    4. a. he/she used English as the medium of learning in his/her Bachelor’s degree course;
      b. a minimum score of 6.5 in IELTS; or
      c. a minimum score of 90 (internet-based test) in TOEFL; or
      d. equivalent qualifications.

Application Materials

  • Application Form
    Online form
  • Identity Document
    For local applications, photocopy of HKID or passport. For non-local students, photocopy of other identity document of home country.
  • Certificate(s) and Transcript(s)
    All applicants must have graduated from an accredited college or university. Photocopies of certificate(s)/transcript(s) from all institutions attended must be submitted. Upon receipt of the admission offer, you have to arrange to send the official transcript(s) for the academic qualification(s) to the Graduate School directly by the original institution(s)/authorities. These documents should bear all the academic records of your undergraduate and/or postgraduate studies to date.
  • Mathematics Course Description
    A course description for all mathematics courses taken by the applicant must be included in the supporting documents.
  • Resume
  • Confidential Recommendation Forms
    Request two referees to complete the Confidential Recommendation Form for you and send it directly to the Graduate School. The forms may be from faculty (preferred) or employers who can assess the applicant's abilities.
  • Statement of Goals and Objectives
  • Proof of English Proficiency
    Applicants whose native language is not English may be required to submit scores for the IELTS or approved substitute. A minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or a minimun TOEFL (internet-based test) score of 90, or equivalent score of other similar accepted tests is required for those applicants to receive proof of English proficiency.
