Advances in Spectral Methods and their Applications
Organized by Benyu Guo and Jie Shen
Rationale
Spectral method, as the most accurate numerical
method for smooth problems, has been playing an important role in
both solid and fluid mechanics applications. In recent years, the
role of spectral method has increased, both as a stand-alone solver
for problems in regular geometry, and as a building block for spectral
element methods which can handle complicated geometry. In this mini-symposium,
we invite experts in algorithm development, analysis and implementation
of spectral methods. The aim of the mini-symposium is to exchange
ideas and to promote recent advances in spectral methods to a wide
audience.
