Café Mathématique

Please join us for an informal gathering to
get a hint of what to expect in the coming years

Café Mathématique is a series of informal gatherings dedicated to sharing ideas by connecting prospective and current students, alumni, professors, and the community. This time, we want to connect you,

our new BSc students (Year-2 and non-JUPAS Year-3),
to
our faculty members.

Instead of stumbling through the transition to life as a new Math/Stat major on your own, it is often more useful to seek advice from people with the knowledge and the experience. Which courses should you take? What is it like to be a Mathematics/Statistics major? Are there any internship/exchange opportunities? Our teachers will bring you much useful information about our department. You will also have a chance to meet and talk with your academic advisors, who will offer you much help in years to come. On top of that, to prepare you for the coming MATH courses, there will be a short tutorial focusing on some necessary background knowledge as well. Last but not least, dinner will be served, so don't miss out and come chit chat with us!

When: Tuesday, Sept 12, 2017, from 5:30pm-8:30pm

Where: WLB211 and Renfrew restaurant
