Registration, Accommodation and Visa:

All participants in the conference must register before 15 September 2007. The registration fee is 800 Yuan (US$100). All full-time students may register for 160 Yuan (US$20). The registration fee includes conference materials, lunches, tea breaks, a conference banquet and a sightseeing tour. To register, please complete and mail/fax us the attached registration form (doc) (pdf).

The accommodation is at International Conference Center of Xiamen University. Accommodation cost for Standard Room (A) : 360 Yuan (US$47) per day; Standard Room (B) : 320 Yuan (US$42) per day; Standard Room (C) : 260 Yuan (US$34) per day.

EASIAM Student Paper Prize:

Principal Guidelines

The EASIAM Student Paper Prizes are awarded every year to the student author(s) of the most outstanding paper(s) submitted to the EASIAM Student Paper Competition. This award is based solely on the merit and content of the student's contribution to the submitted paper.

The purpose of the Student Paper Prizes is to recognize outstanding scholarship by students in applied mathematics or computing.

Requirements for Submission

To enter the competition, each student author must study in East or Southeast Asia, and submit:

  1. a short vitae including his/her list of publications (at most two pages).
  2. the complete paper.

The student's advisor must submit a letter that:

  1. describes and evaluates the paper's contribution to the literature and the student's role in the scholarship;
  2. verifies that the student meets the conditions of eligibility for the award and state the study period of the student.

Notification of Prize Winners

The EASIAM president will notify the recipient(s) at least six weeks before the award date.

Each recipient is required to present his or her paper at the EASIAM meeting where the prizes are awarded.

Description of the Award

Each recipient of the EASIAM Student Paper Prize shall receive a
certificate and reimbursement of up to US$250 toward travel expenses. Up to four awards will be made each year.

Xiamen is located in a beautiful peninsula across the Taiwan straight, and is a very popular tourist destination in China. All the participants will be host at International Conference Center of Xiamen University, which is located at the principal campus of Xiamen University.

Taxi: Xiamen University is about 20km from Xiamen GaoQi airport. You can reach the hotel easily by taxi. It will cost about 60 RMB (Chinese Yuan). You can show the picture below (Chinese name of the hotel "International Conference Center of Xiamen University") to the driver in case he can't understand your English well.
