Conference Support Scheme

Guidelines for conference/workshop financial support applicatons

  1. All applications will be reviewed in a batch. The deadlines are 31 March and 30 September of each year. Applications should normally be made at least 4 months before the event.

  2. The maximum financial support for each local conference is HK$10,000. There may also be a cap on the total support given to any one institution. Special case will be considered for large scale international conferences especially those involving joint institutions (see below).

  3. The total amount of support of all the activities will not exceed HK$50,000 each year.

  4. Joint institutional activities would be encouraged.

  5. If the Society is one of the co-organiser of the activity, the surplus after the event should be returned to the Society. (The Society does not want to be a funding agency for local conferences.)

  6. The registration for student to attend the conference/workshop will be free.

  7. Organizers of the conference must provide waivers or concessions of registration fees to all HKMS members.

  8. A written summary report and financial report of the conference/workshop should be presented to the Society after it has been held.
