OVERVIEWS

The General Education Program at HKBU provides a strong foundation for well-rounded university education with the goal of promoting individual development. The Department of Mathematics currently offers several GE courses at Level 1 (Quantitative Reasoning) and Level 2 (Science, Technology and Society). Also, Level 3 (Service-learning) courses are under preparation and will be launched next academic year.

The General Education Numeracy Team was formed in 2009 with the support of a Teaching Development Grant. The team members cover a wide array of backgrounds to on one hand maintain the smooth functioning of instructors' teaching and on the other hand offer face-to-face support and consultation for students’ learning of all kinds of numeracy related GE courses at all levels.
