Statistics Research and Consultancy Centre (SRCC) was established in November 1992. Its main aim is to advance the knowledge and to promote the use of statistics both inside and outside the campus. The Centre has several objectives:

• encourages the applications of statistics to practical problems;
• carrys out research in both theoretical and applied statistics;
• provides statistical consultancy to staff and post-graduate students in the University as well as other individuals, organizations;
• provides consultancy services to outside companies and firms;
• sponsors public lectures and short courses;
• facilitates collaboration among local scholars and collaboration with scholars from China and overseas;
• organizes workshop and symposium.
