Workshop on Foundations of Numerical PDEs
FoCM2011, Budapest

July 12-14, 2011

From Tuesday 12th to Thursday 14th July, 2011, a 3-day workshop on the Foundations of numerical PDEs takes place at Budapest, Hungary, as part of the 2011 Conference on Foundations of Computational Mathematics (FoCM).

This workshop is part of the conference Foundations of Computational Mathematics (FoCM) to be held in Budapest between Monday, July 04, and Thursday, July 14, 2011. Participation in FoCM workshops is by invitation only. will include 40-minute lectures by leading experts, covering a wide range of topics in numerical PDEs.

The FoCM2011 conference at Budapest will be the sixth conference of the FoCM Society, following five very successful meetings at Rio de Janeiro (1997), Oxford (1999), Minneapolis (2002), Santander (2005) and at Hong Kong (2008), each of which had several hundred participants from all branches of mathematics that impinge on computation in the broadest sense. For more information about the FoCM Society, you may wish to consult the webpages.

The last conference FoCM'08 was held in the City University of Hong Kong from June 16 to June 26, 2008. The corresponding workshop was organized by Weinan E of Princeton University, USA, Christoph Schwab of ETH, Switzerland, Tao Tang of Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong, and Jinchao Xu of Pennsylvania State University, USA. The FoCM'05 was held in Universidad de Cantabria in Santander, Spain June 30 - July 9, 2005. The corresponding workshop was organized by Christoph Schwab of ETH and Eitan Tadmor of Maryland.
