• Prof. Tao Tang, together with Prof. Pingwen Zhang, Dr. Ruo Li and Prof. Huazhong Tang of Peking University, won a first prize in the natural science category of the 2007 Tertiary Institutions Science Technology Awards presented by the Ministry of Education, PRC.
• The Third International Conference on Scientific Computing and Partial Differential Equations will be held at our University from 8-12 December 2008.
• Workshop on Graph Theory, Combinatorics and Computing will be held at our University on 17 July 2008.
• Mathcamp 2008 will be held at our University from 2-4 July 2007.
• Prof. Tao Tang has been awarded the Overseas and Hong Kong, Macau Young Scholars Collaborative Research Fund by the National Science Foundation of China (NSFC) in 2007. With effect from January 2008, Prof. Tang will enter into a three-year collaborative research will be with Institute of Computational Mathematics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
• Croucher Advanced Study Institute - Mathematical & Algorithmic Challenges for Modeling & Analyzing Modern Data Sets will be held at our University from 21-25 April 2008.
• Prof. H. Brunner, Dr. W. H. Chan, Dr. S. N. Chiu, Dr. H. Peng, Dr. W. C. Shiu, Dr. M. L. Tang, Prof. T. Tang, Prof. X. Wu and Prof. L. Zhu have been awarded research grants by Hong Kong Research Grant Council (RGC) — congratulations!
